TEC Canada.
Off paper, onto the home screen. A member app people can find their way around, arranged around what each of them cares about.
Going digital shouldn't feel like getting lost.
TEC Canada gives its members insight and resources for professional and personal development. Members were moving from analog processes to a mobile app, but poor navigation and accessibility issues got in the way of the people it was built for.
We watched where people tapped, and where they gave up.
Research came first. Workshops and behaviour analysis showed how members actually moved through the app and which content they engaged with. Affinity mapping turned the observations into a short, ranked list of pain points, and the redesign followed from that list.

The idea in one line
Your app, your way.
Members open on the widgets they chose, not a menu they have to decode.
Easier to navigate, more personal, used more.
Members got navigation that makes sense on first use, a personalized interface through configurable widgets, and a consistent home to come back to. Engagement and satisfaction went up with it.
